How We Built Siynex: An AI SaaS Platform for UAE Business Administration

It Started With Our Own Frustration

As a Dubai-registered software development company, Async Innovations operates under the same business administration requirements as every other UAE SME: trade licence renewals, VAT filings, visa processing, Ejari registration, and quarterly financial reconciliation. We looked at the available SaaS tools. None served UAE business administration as a dedicated domain. So we built Siynex.

The Technical Architecture

Backend: NestJS on Node.js — module-based, TypeScript throughout, dependency injection for maintainability at scale.
Frontend: Next.js 15 with App Router — server-side rendering for UAE mobile network performance, Tailwind CSS for bilingual RTL/LTR design system control.
Database: PostgreSQL with pgvector — relational integrity for complex compliance data relationships, vector storage for RAG without a separate database service.
AI: OpenAI GPT-4o with RAG architecture — document intelligence via Vision API (97%+ accuracy on digital-native documents), conversational AI grounded in UAE regulatory documentation via pgvector retrieval.

UAE PDPL Compliance Architecture

Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 is not a checklist for a platform handling business documents and employee records. Every API endpoint returning personal data is annotated with access control requirements. A dedicated data deletion service handles Article 16 deletion requests correctly across all related database records.

What We Got Wrong — and Fixed

We underestimated document variety across UAE free zones. Our onboarding assumed too much user sophistication (rebuilt to show value before asking for data). RAG retrieval quality degraded as we added more regulatory documents (solved with authority-specific metadata filters).
